🏚️ Community Safety Message: Abandoned Buildings in Madeley

We’re asking our local community to stay safe and stay away from abandoned or derelict buildings. These sites may look like places to explore, but they are extremely dangerous.

📞 Recent Concerns

We have received a number of calls about youths gaining access to empty buildings in Madeley. Please be assured that we continue to work closely with the property owners to secure these sites and reduce the risks.

⚠️ Why It’s Unsafe

Unstable structures – floors, roofs, and stairways can collapse without warning.

Hidden hazards – exposed wiring, asbestos, mould, chemicals, and sharp debris.

Fire risk – damaged utilities and flammable materials increase danger.

Risk of injury or becoming trapped – emergency access is often extremely difficult.

Anti‑social behaviour – derelict buildings may attract drug use or vandalism.

Entering an abandoned building without permission is trespassing and may result in police action.
